The Southeastern Conference, most commonly known as the SEC, is full of big-time athletes. From quarterbacks to safeties, the conference is full of NFL Draft prospects. This season, there’s one NFL Draft prospect that is dominating in the conference, and that is Kentucky running back Chris Rodriguez Jr. This season, Rodriguez is first in the SEC in rushing yards. While some of his runs haven’t always been pretty, I’m here to tell you that he has a ton of upside in the NFL Draft. More importantly, an NFL franchise is going to hit a homerun by drafting Rodriguez.

Below, I’ve included a tweet from The Cats Pause, a UK athletics website for 247 Sports. The tweet does a great job of highlighting the season that Chris Rodriguez Jr is having thus far.

Will Chris Rodriguez Jr Declare For The 2022 NFL Draft?

This might be the biggest question as we dive into the 2022 NFL Draft process. Rodriguez, a junior, isn’t a lock to enter the NFL Draft. However, given that he’s currently leading the SEC in rushing yards, and fourth nationally, his draft stock is on the rise.

Chris Rodriguez Jr is a patient runner with some of the best quickness and acceleration in this class. In my opinion, he’s more than capable of stepping onto an NFL field and competing at a high-level. However, there are some areas that need to be clean up. Most notably, the area that needs the most work is ball security. earlier this season, in a matchup against the Missouri Tigers, Rodriguez fumbled at the goal line. However, Rodriguez more than made up for that with his monster performance.

Nonetheless, for Chris Rodriguez Jr, it’s not a matter of if he’ll end up on an NFL roster, but when. Given his success this season for the Kentucky Wildcats, that could very well be next April.
