If there’s a word to describe the 2022 NFL Draft quarterback class, it’s been inconsistent. Heading into the 2021 season, Oklahoma’s Spencer Rattler was considered by many to be at the top of the class. In fact, many, including myself, predicted Rattler would be the top overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. However, despite a 4-0 record at Oklahoma, it’s become clear that it might be time to reevaluate Spencer Rattler as QB1. One name that has continued to come up in conversations, and whose NFL Draft stock is rising each week, is Liberty University’s Malik Willis.
Pro Football Focus released the tweet below announcing Willis as the top QB on their draft board.

Can Malik Willis Solidify Himself As The Top 2022 NFL Draft Quarterback?
The college football season is in full swing. Heading into week five of the season, it’s time for a quarterback to set themselves apart from the rest of the crowd. The question, naturally, is if Malik Willis is capable of doing so. In terms of Liberty’s upcoming schedule, it gets much easier for the foreseeable future. However, a big test for Liberty and Malik Willis comes on November 6th in a game at Ole Miss. Furthermore, if Willis is able to continue to play at a high level, then NFL scouts will anticipate that matchup. For Ole Miss, they have a quarterback with a rising draft stock of their own in Matt Corral. Quite frankly, the quarterback with the best performance in that game could see a massive boost in stock.
When we released our own 2022 NFL Draft Big Board Top 100 Prospect Rankings, Malik Willis came in at 51st overall. Even further, he was listed as the 7th overall quarterback. While things have certainly changed since we released those rankings in late-August, I don’t think they’ve done so considerably. I still believe that Willis is the 5th to 6th best QB in this class.
