Day Two of the 2022 Reese’s Senior Bowl was a wet one, but it’s finally in the books. There were plenty of prospects that were impressive, but perhaps none mores than Liberty QB Malik Willis. Further, the rain meant that it was perfect weather for some 1-on-1 drills in the trenches, and both position groups didn’t disappoint. Finally, Baylor S Jalen Pitre is starting to create some buzz following his performance for the National team.

Liberty QB Malik Willis Impresses NFL Scouts
Heading into the 2022 Reese’s Senior Bowl, quarterback rankings for the NFL Draft were wide open. However, following two solid performances this week from Liberty QB Malik Willis, scouts and analysts have raved about Willis’ abilities.

For an encore, Willis was once again the day’s most impressive QB, this time in a torrential downpour

While most interviews at the 2022 Reese’s Senior Bowl are just about establishing relationships and getting to know players, several teams have met with Malik Willis. According to Willis, he’s met with the Carolina Panthers, Washington Commanders, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, all of whom have needs at the quarterback position.
The weather was a big topic as practice got underway. There was some spurts of heavy rain during Wednesday’s practice. However, the rain didn’t stop Willis as he was able to push the ball downfield to receivers and tight ends. Another strong performance in practice on Thursday could be enough for Malik Willis to establish himself as the top quarterback in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Both teams will be inside on Thursday as heavy rain is expected. Practices will be held inside the South Alabama Jaguars Training Center.
Defensive Line Prospects Steal The Show
The offensive line versus defensive line drills have been an entertaining watch this week. Much of Tuesday’s practice was about installing the game plan and setting the tone for the week of practices. However, on Wednesday, we got to see more 1-on-1 drills. The defensive line prospects had the upper hand all day as Oklahoma’s Perrion Winfrey, Connecticut’s Travis Jones, and Houston’s Logan Hall stole the show early.
During the second practice, Florida State’s Jermaine Johnson, South Carolina’s Kingsley Enagbare, and Georgia’s Devonte Wyatt put on a clinic.
Baylor S Jalen Pitre Turning Some Heads This Week
Finally, the WR vs DB drills truly got underway on Wednesday as well. Baylor S Jalen Pitre had a strong performance during the 1-on-1 drills. Much like many of the other prospects during day two of the 2022 Reese’s Senior Bowl, Pitre needs to build upon Wednesday’s showing.
If he’s able to do so, Jalen Pitre could be someone that teams look at at the end of day two or possibly early day three of the 2022 NFL Draft.
