2025 NFL Draft: Shedeur Sanders Draft Profile and Scouting Report

Shedeur Sanders is a transfer from Jackson State and the son of Hall of Fame cornerback Deion Sanders. He has been coached by his father his entire career, from high school to Jackson State to Colorado. Sanders offers solid projectable upside right now as he enters his junior season of college. He was the first HBCU player to ever win the Jerry Rice award, which is given to the most outstanding FCS freshman in the country.

Shedeur Sanders 40 Time

Projected 40 Time: 4.78 seconds

Shedeur Sanders was a starter from the moment he entered college, collecting 26 career starts without missing a game at Jackson State. Starting at Colorado, he already has a lot of football experience and has 6,975 passing yards and 70 touchdown passes, posting what would be a 109.9 NFL passer rating.

He’s capable as a runner as well, running for 655 yards and scoring 9 touchdowns on the ground. While he’s not a speedy runner, he is savvy with where he uses his legs and can extend the play outside of the pocket. Sanders also displays the ability to extend and improvise when he is forced to. Those traits all translate to higher levels of football and all eyes will be on him at Colorado to see if he continues to play well against the higher level of competition.

Recruiting Bio

Shedeur Sanders was a 3-star recruit coming out of Trinity Christian School in the Class of 2021, scoring a 89.16 grade on On3’s Industry Ranking.

Sanders held some insane offers as well, including Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Oregon, Florida State, and Tennessee. He initially committed to Florida Atlantic in July, 2020, before decommitting three months later and committing to join his father at Jackson State.

In December of 2022, it was announced that Shedeur Sanders would once again follow his father Deion, this time to Colorado.

He’s estimated to be worth $1,500,000 in NIL value.
