Cooper DeJean 40 Time
Projected 40 Time: 4.46 seconds
Cooper DeJean is a two-year contributor at defensive back for the Iowa Hawkeyes. He plays a variety of positions on defense for the Hawkeyes, including zone corner and safety. He possesses good height and weight for the position when compared to the league average. Our projected 40 time of 4.46 seconds is solid when it’s also compared to the league average at the position.
DeJean displays a good ability to stay locked onto the receiver on routes up the middle of the field. Shows fluid movements in space when in zone coverage. He tracks the ball well in coverage on passes outside the numbers. Possesses a solid ability to restrict and force WRs inside from an outside receiver position. Against the run, he displays a good ability to absorb contact from blocks in the open-field and attack the ball carrier. Shows to have a very good ability to key and attack the ball from deep range across the field.
However, in zone coverage, he displays adequate awareness of his surroundings when multiple receivers are in his general area. Has an adequate ability to shed blocks in the open-field and attack screens. Possesses an adequate speed downfield to stick with receivers on deep routes.
