2024 NFL Draft Scouting Report: LSU QB Jayden Daniels
Jayden Daniels enters his second season as the starting quarterback for the LSU Tigers after serving as a three-season starter at Arizona State. In his first season at LSU, Daniels guided the Tigers under first-year head coach Brian Kelly to an SEC Championship appearance against the Georgia Bulldogs, with losses to Florida State and Tennessee. The NFL considers him a legitimate quarterback prospect with his unique blend of passing and running ability.

Projected 40 Time: 4.52 Seconds
For his strengths, Daniels has a suitable arm and can push the ball downfield when he needs to, though he prefers to work underneath and to the short-to-intermediate areas of the field. His electric running ability ignites the LSU offense, often relying intensely on his legs to make things happen as a runner. As a scrambler, Daniels is elite in this regard.
The biggest issue with Daniels will be the offense needing to be constructed around him due to his lack of consistent passing ability. His accuracy and placement are not ideal for an NFL quarterback. He’s almost exclusively a one-read quarterback at this point of his career. Daniels wants to get outside the pocket and run at the first sign of trouble.
