2024 NFL Draft: Malik Nabers Draft Profile and Scouting Report
Malik Nabers has spent his entire collegiate career at LSU, consistently showing increase in production throughout his time on campus. Many outlets had Nabers listed as a four-star prospect, including On3. Last season was a pivotal one for Malik Nabers as he was able to set himself apart and rise to the occasion as one of the top receivers on the roster.
Malik Nabers 40 Time
Projected 40 Time: 4.50* seconds
Malik Nabers is a three year contributor at wide receiver for the LSU Tigers. He’s a versatile receiver for the Tigers, often lining up outside or inside at the slot position. He possesses solid height and weight for the position when compared to the league average. Our projected 40 time of 4.50 seconds is also solid, as it’s very close to the average.
Nabers has good acceleration and quickness off the line of scrimmage to create separation from the defender. He displays a good catch radius to haul in balls placed away form his body, especially when defenders are draped over him. Displays a solid ability to adjust his body towards the ball, even when he has limited time to track the ball. When he’s engaged with a defender as a downfield blocker, he displays a solid ability to drive and create space.
However, there are some inconsistencies in his game. For example, he has an adequate ability to explode away from the defender at the top of his route. His route running is adequate, but lacks sharpness to separate downfield. Finally, I’d like to see him be more consistent in his willingness to engage defenders and block out in space.
Recruiting Bio
Malik Nabers is a graduate of Southside High School in Youngsville, Louisiana. However, he was unable to play football his senior season after his transfer waiver was denied. He was a three sport athlete in high school, competing in football, basketball, and track and field. ESPN had Nabers listed as a three-star prospect, while On3, Rivals, and 24/7 all had him ranked as a four-star. He had an On3 Industry Ranking of 91.73.
Prior to his commitment to LSU, Malik Nabers had offers from Georgia, Notre Dame, Michigan, as well as many other top programs. In July of 2020, Nabers committed to the Mississippi State Bulldogs. However, as predicted by several analysts, he decommitted, instead opting to join the LSU Tigers in December of 2020. Nabers officially enrolled at LSU in May of 2021.
Malik Nabers has an estimated NIL worth of $721,000.
