Tommy Eichenberg 40 Time
Projected 40 Time: 4.75 seconds
Tommy Eichenberg is a fifth-year contributor at linebacker for the Ohio State Buckeyes. Despite being a top performer over the last two seasons, Eichenberg opted to return for the 2023 season. Possesses solid height and weight for the linebacker position when compared to the league average. Our projected 40 time of 4.75 seconds would be considered average for the position.
Eichenberg plays with an extremely high motor and effort throughout the entire play. Has a good ability to alter his attack angles when engaging shifty runners in the flats. Displays a very good ability to read the quarterback’s eyes as he drops into coverage to patrol his area. Does a great job of wrapping up the ball carrier and finishing the tackle in space. Shows good timing to attack in-line tight ends and create drive inside.
However, he has an adequate ability to leverage the ball outside of the hashes to force the runner back inside. Needs to improve upon his ability to diagnose plays at the point of attack. He’ll bite on runs at the second-level early, often taking him out of position to make a play on the ball. His awareness of where the receiver is located beyond the second-level is adequate. Inconsistent ability to mirror at the line of scrimmage to remain locked in a confined area with his target.
