Bo Nix 40 Time
Projected 40 Time: 4.60 seconds
Bo Nix is a four-year starter at quarterback. He played three seasons at Auburn, before transferring to Oregon for the 2022 season. He possesses solid height and weight for the quarterback position in the NFL. Our projected 40 time of 4.60 seconds is several tenths quicker than the league average for quarterbacks.
Nix displays a good accuracy on short and intermediate throws, as well as those thrown into the flats and behind the line of scrimmage. Does a nice job of stepping up into the pocket to avoid outside pressure off the edge. Shows to have good velocity on intermediate throws to outside the numbers, as well as those made across the field. Throws with good anticipation and places the ball as the receiver comes out of the break on the route.
However, he does possess an adequate ability to progress through his reads and make the best possible throw. Will miss an open receiver in lieu of one that’s heavily covered. As a result, he displays a poor ability to throw intermediate passes into double or triple coverage. Outside of the pocket, he’s an awkward runner with poor balance when changing directions. Lacks an ability to keep his feet moving inside the pocket.
Recruiting Bio
Bo Nix was a graduate of Pinson Valley High School in Pinson, Alabama, where he played for his father Patrick Nix. He was a five-star recruit, according to Rivals, while ESPN and 247Sports had him ranked as a four-star player, and scored a 0.9776 in the 247Sports Composite.
Prior to his commitment to Auburn University, he had offers from Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, and LSU, as well as many others. Nix officially committed to Auburn in January of 2018. He signed his letter of intent in December of that year, and was an early-enrollee in January of 2019.
After three seasons, Bo Nix officially entered the transfer portal in December of 2021. A week later, it was announced that Nix would transfer to the University of Oregon.
