2024 NFL Draft: Taliese Fuaga Draft Profile and Scouting Report

Taliese Fuaga committed to Oregon State in the class of 2020. He redshirted his first season on campus, but did see action in four games before doing so. Fuaga had a breakout season in 2022, where he made multiple All-Pac-12 teams. That success has carried over into the 2023 season, where Taliese Fuaga has been able to work himself into consideration for a first round selection in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Taliese Fuaga 40 Time

Official 40 Time: 5.13 seconds

Taliese Fuaga is a two-year starter at right tackle for the Oregon State Beavers. He checked all the boxes when he measured in at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine. Fuaga ran a 5.13 40 yard dash at the Combine, with a 10-yard split of 1.77, which is a slightly slower split than average. He has the ideal size and build for the offensive tackle position, but I do believe that right tackle is the position for him in the NFL.

He possesses good use of hands to combat the pass rusher and stun the defender to neutralize the leverage. He displays good quickness out of his stance to deliver efficient blocks in the flat or in the second level. Further, he has an excellent ability to handle delayed blitzes off the edge and is quick to the punch to stun the defender. As a run blocker, he possesses an excellent ability to drive and steer the defender to create space for the ball carrier to operate in.

However, he can get a bit lazy out of his stance with stationary feet, which can get him into trouble more often than not. Additionally, I’d like to see him be more aggressive to attack and stun defenders with punch, rather than letting them come to him.

Recruiting Bio

Taliese Fuaga graduated from Mount Tahoma High School in Tacoma, Washington, where he played football for head coach Leon Hatch. He was a three-star recruiting prospect coming out of high school, and scored an 81.87 in the On3 Industry Ranking System, which put him 1,500th in the nation.

Prior to his commitment to Oregon State, Fuaga had offers from Nevada, Oregon, and USC. Fuaga had his official visit with Oregon State in December of 2019, with his commitment to the university coming a few days later. He signed his letter of intent nearly a week later. In June of 2020, Taliese Fuaga enrolled at Oregon State.
