2024 NFL Draft: Chop Robinson Draft Profile and Scouting Report

Demeioun ‘Chop’ Robinson began his college career at the University of Maryland. Following his true freshman campaign, Robinson found his way to Penn State. Further showcased his quickness and agility for the Nittany Lions, accumulating 26 total tackles and 5.5 sacks as a sophomore. This season, he’s shown that he is capable of playing at an elite level, keeping the Nittany Lions ranked as one of the top defenses in the country.

Chop Robinson 40 Time

Official 40 Time: 4.48 seconds

Chop Robinson began his collegiate career at the University of Maryland in 2021. Following a breakout season, Robinson transferred to Penn State, where he’s had a significant impact for the last two seasons. He possesses solid height and weight for the position when compared to the league average. Our projected 40 time of 4.70 seconds is slightly quicker when compared to the league average for defensive ends and outside linebackers.

Robinson has good body lean and bend to remain upright through contact when attacking off the edge versus offensive tackles. Possesses a solid ability to drive through the offensive tackle and generate push to collapse the pocket. Displays good maneuverability and lateral agility when asked to drop into coverage, which allows him to hold his own when covering short and intermediate routes. Finally, he displays good timing and acceleration on stunts to get instant penetration inside and collapse the pocket.

However, Chop Robinson can struggle at times to make an impact off the edge. There are time son film where he loses more reps than others at his position with similar draft stock. I’d like to see him further develop tools to beat offensive linemen. Currently, he’s sort of a ‘one trick pony’ in that he has tremendous push to drive through offensive linemen, but that’s really it. He also shows on film a poor ability to identify and attack read-option plays at the point of attack.
