2024 NFL Draft: Josh Newton Draft Profile and Scouting Report
Josh Newton originally chose to remain close to home out of high school, committing to Louisiana-Monroe. He redshirted in 2018, his first year on campus as he converted from WR to CB. The following year, he finished with 20 tackles and 2 passes defended. In 2020, he ended the year with 16 total tackles, 1 interception, and 5 pass breakups. Followed that up with significantly more playing time in 2021, totaling 48 tackles and 8 pass breakups. After the season, he entered the transfer portal, eventually committing to TCU. Over the next two seasons, he recorded 21 passes defended for the Horned Frogs.
