2025 NFL Draft Scouting Report: Texas QB Quinn Ewers

Quinn Ewers is one of the more interesting quarterbacks, becoming draft eligible in 2023. Formerly considered one of the best high school players in the country, Ewers made history by reclassing, committing, and enrolling to Ohio State, and reportedly making over seven figures as the fourth-string quarterback in Columbus. He’s a pocket passer that relies on timing and anticipation to make good throws, which he flashes on tape quite often.

Quinn Ewers 40 Time

Projected: 4.76 seconds.

Ewers has several aspects of his game that make him interesting, including capable athleticism and solid accuracy to the short and intermediate areas on the field. His improvability also makes him a dangerous quarterback when the play starts to break down, as he can manipulate the pocket and squeeze a throw-off with his quick release to open a receiver up in space.

However, there are clear arm strength concerns. He struggles to push the ball with velocity, especially on throws to the perimeter. Receivers have to wait often for the ball to get there. When Ewers pushes the ball deep, his placement tends to be too far inside, only heightening arm strength concerns. While he shows some ability to maneuver the pocket, it’s not consistent. He still has room to grow with recognizing defensive fronts and coverages.
