Javon Solomon joined Troy University in 2019 as a true freshman. That season, as a true freshman, he appeared in three games and redshirted for the season. The following year, he finished the season with 29 total tackles, which included 6 tackles for a loss and 1.5 sacks. Still maintaining freshman eligibility due to the COVID season, Solomon had a breakout season in 2021 as a redshirt freshman, where he ended up with 50 total tackles, which included 17 tackles for a loss and 11 sacks.
