2025 NFL Draft: East Carolina CB Shavon Revel Jr Draft Profile and Scouting Report

Shavon Revel Jr hit the spotlight in 2023 as a junior at East Carolina University. That season, he finished with 54 total tackles, including 4 for a loss, and 13 pass breakups. He entered the 2024 season atop many preseason award watchlists. However, three games into the 2024 season, Revel Jr suffered a season-ending knee injury. He declared for the 2025 NFL Draft in November of 2024 and should be ready for the start of the 2025 NFL season.

Shavon Revel Jr 40 Time

Projected 40 Time: 4.38 seconds

Shavon Revel Jr is a two-year starter at cornerback for the East Carolina Pirates. He can play inside or outside, although he’s mostly been used outside during his time at ECU. He’s of the ideal height and weight for the position. He ran a 4.4 40-yard dash during ECU’s summer camp, which aligns with our projected 4.38 40 time.

Shavon Revel Jr processes and reads the field quickly and efficiently. He’s also capable of locating and attacking the ball much quicker than his peers. He displays the quickness and top-end speed to make plays across the entire field and pops often on game film. Revel Jr shows to have a smooth backpedal with the capability to break on the ball quickly without any wasted effort. Additionally, he displays good range from intermediate distance to make a play on the ball at the second-level.

However, Shavon Revel Jr can drift a bit from the receiver when tracking and locating the ball in coverage. On the line of scrimmage, I’d like to see him be more aggressive with his hands to stun the receiver and disrupt the timing of the route.

Recruiting Bio

Shavon Revel Jr graduated from Reagan High School in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He was a two-way player in football, playing both wide receive rand cornerback. In addition to football, he also participated in track and field. Out of high school, he was ranked three stars by 247Sports. He didn’t receive any offers, so he enrolled at Louisburg Junior College in Louisburg, North Carolina. He spent two seasons there, which included a COVID-shortened season in 2020.

He transferred to East Carolina University in December of 2021.
