2025 NFL Draft: Minnesota OT Aireontae Ersery Draft Profile and Scouting Report

Aireontae Ersery burst onto the scene in 2022 as a starting left tackle. In his first year as a starter, he posted three 70+ offensive grades according to Pro Football Focus. He allowed two sacks that season, as well as two more during the 2023 season. This season for the Gophers, Ersery rose to the occasion and set himself apart form others in the draft class. He missed a couple of games due to injury, but only allowed one sack.

Aireontae Ersery 40 Time

Projected 40 Time: 5.32 seconds

Aireontae Ersery is a three-year starter at left tackle for the Minnesota Gophers. He’s played left tackle for the last three seasons, allowing a total of 5 sacks and 27 hurries over that period. Ersery possesses solid height and weight when compared to the league average. However, our projected 40 time of 5.32 seconds would be about a tenth slower than average, which is confirmed by his game film.

Aireontae Ersery has excellent timing to punch and stun the pass rusher off the edge. By doing so, he establishes leverage and gains the advantage. He’s a patient blocker that doesn’t panic often when complexities are thrown his direction. Finally, he does a solid job of absorbing contact off the edge and anchoring his lower body to protect the pocket integrity.

However, I would like to see explosiveness out of his stance as a run blocker. On film, he’s often a tick or two late, allowing a pathway to the ball for the defender. I also believe that he needs to process quicker when run blocking at the second level. When in pass protection, he needs to work on picking up delayed blitzes and stunts off the edge much quicker than he currently displays on film.

Recruiting Bio

Aireontae Ersery graduated from Ruskin High School in Kansas City, Missouri, where he played football for head coach William Perkins. He played football for two years in high school, playing both offensive tackle and defensive tackle. He also participated in track and field. He was a consensus three-star recruiting prospect. He scored an 84.70 On3 Industry Ranking, which was good enough for 928th nationally.

Out of high school, Ersery had offers from Minnesota, Kansas, Kansas State, and Kent State. In June of 2019, he announced his commitment to play for the Minnesota Gophers. He officially enrolled in June of 2020.
