Benjamin Morrison first rose to fame as a freshman at Notre Dame, when he finished the year with 33 total tackles and 6 interceptions. He was set to back up those performances in 2024 with the Fighting Irish, but struggled to battle through injuries and only appeared in six games.

Benjamin Morrison 40 Time

Projected 40 Time: 4.42 seconds

Benjamin Morrison is a three year starter at cornerback for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. He typically plays the outside corner position, but possesses the capabilities to cover slot receivers. He has solid height, but is a bit lighter than the league average in the NFL. Our projected 40 time of 4.42 seconds is slightly quicker than average.

Benjamin Morrison displays a good ability to leverage the defender and constrict space when defending the run along the sidelines. He’s capable of shedding blocks quickly and attacking the ball carrier in the flat. When defending the run, Morrison displays very good quickness and acceleration to stay with receivers on deep routes downfield. In coverage, he shows to have excellent range to reach the receiver from deep and intermediate ranges.

However, he can struggle to hold his own when pressing on the line of scrimmage. To improve, he’ll need to be more aggressive with his hands and work to maintain his balance early in the rep. Additionally, he needs to improve his ability to mirror the receiver on routes into the middle of the field. This could be related to poor hip fluidity, which shows itself on game film.

Recruiting Bio

Benjamin Morrison graduated from Brophy College Preparatory in Phoenix, Arizona, where he played football for head coach Jason Jewell. He was a four star prospect according to 247Sports, Rivals, and ESPN. He scored an 89.75 in the On3 Industry Ranking system, which ranked him 342nd nationally.

Prior to his commitment to Notre Dame, Benjamin Morrison had offers from LSU, Alabama, Penn State, along with other top programs in the country. Morrison announced his commitment to Notre Dame in July of 2021. He officially enrolled in June of 2022.
