2025 NFL Draft: Ohio State DL Tyleik Williams Draft Profile and Scouting Report
Tyleik Williams popped into the spotlight as a junior in 2023 as a starter on the defensive line for Ohio State. That season, he finished with 53 total tackles, which included 10 tackles for a loss and 3 sacks. He was also able to bat down five passes that season, too. He’s battled through injuries during the 2024 season, but still remained as a threat through nine games this season.

Projected 40 Time: 4.97 seconds
Tyleik Williams is a four year contributor on the defensive line for the Ohio State Buckeyes. He typically plays defensive tackle for OSU, which is the position that he projects best at in the NFL. He lacks height and weight when compared to the position average in the NFL. Our projected 40 time of 4.97 seconds is a tenth quicker than average.
Out of his stance, Tyleik Williams displays good quickness to stun his opponent and establish leverage. That quickness is also on display when he releases his block to run upfield to pursue the ball carrier. He takes solid routes upfield to constrict space and force the runner where he wants him. Against double-teams, Williams doesn’t give up a lot of space and is able to anchor and hold his own. He also shows excellent strength to drive and steer his opponent to plug running lanes inside.
However, he can struggle to identify and attack the ball when locked with the defender. I’d like to see him be more precise with hand placement to swat down the opponent’s hands to win the rep. When dropped into coverage, he looks stiff and struggles to rotate and turn his hips.
Recruiting Bio
Tyleik Williams graduated from Unity Reed High School in Manassas, Virginia. Out of high school, Williams was a consensus four star recruit that was ranked inside of the top 200. He scored a 92.67 On3 Industry Ranking, which was good enough for 142nd nationally.
Prior to his commitment to Ohio State, Tyleik Williams was pursued hard by Penn State. He also had offers from Michigan, NC State, and Alabama, along with many others.
He announced in August of 2020 that he would commit to Ohio State, with enrollment coming in January of 2021.
