Nick Emmanwori has been in the limelight since 2022 as a true freshman. That season, he finished with 85 total tackles, 1 pass breakup, and 1 fumble recovery. The following season, he posted 2 interceptions and 8 pass breakups. This season, Nick Emmanwori had 4 interceptions, 2 of which he returned for a touchdown, and 88 total tackles for the Gamecocks.

Nick Emmanwori is a three-year starter at safety for the South Carolina Gamecocks. He’s a converted linebacker that now spends time at free safety and slot corner. He possesses good height and weight for the position when compared to the average. Our projected 40 time of 4.38 seconds is nearly two tenths quicker than average.
Emmanwori has excellent range and closing speed to make a play on the ball in coverage. When rushing the passer, he shows to have good quickness to close on the pocket. Shows to maintain good balance when setting up to make tackles out in space. Additionally, he also displays an elite tackle reach. Further, he has a good ability to drive through defenders to break up screens in the flat.
However, I would like to see more urgency from him to get over the top to leverage the space available for the ball carrier. On occasion, he will bite on play-action, allowing the receiver into 1-on-1’s.
Recruiting Bio
Nick Emmanwori graduated from Irmo High School in Irmo, South Carolina. He played multiple positions on defense, but his primary position was linebacker. On3 and Rivals had him ranked as a four-star recruit out of high school, which 247 and ESPN ranked him as a three. He scored an 89.93 On3 Industry Ranking, which put him 325th nationally.
Prior to his commitment to South Carolina, Nick Emmanwori had offers from Charlotte, Georgia Southern, and Richmond. He announced his commitment to South Carolina in July of 2021. He enrolled a year later in June of 2022.
