The University of Texas has been an interesting program to watch. On the field, the results haven’t been there, right? However, when it comes to putting talent into the NFL, Texas has done a fine job. On the defensive side of the ball, DeMarvion Overshown looks to continue that trend in the 2022 NFL Draft. Overshown has the NFL frame that scouts love, but he has the skillset to back it up. As you can see below, he had a very solid opening week against Louisiana.

How High Can DeMarvion Overshown’s Draft Stock Go?
Last month, we debuted our 2022 NFL Draft Big Board Top 100 Prospect Rankings. Overshown debuted 56th overall, as well as the sixth linebacker in the class. However, it’s still extremely early in the NFL Draft process. A strong performance this season could be enough to push Overshown into an early second-round consideration.
Given his side and athleticism, it’s hard not to imagine that NFL front offices will be clamoring for DeMarvion Overshown in the 2022 NFL Draft. In our Preseason Mock Draft, we had the Las Vegas Raiders selecting Christian Harris with the ninth pick. Considering that Mike Mayock’s seat as GM is scorching hot, the franchise could opt to address a more pressing need in the first round. If that’s the case, Overshown could be an option in the second or third round.
Other potential fits in the NFL are the New England Patriots, Carolina Panthers, or the Philadelphia Eagles. However, keep in mind that Philadelphia would likely target Overshown in the second or third round.
Furthermore, as a senior, DeMarvion Overshown is eligible to play in the Reese’s Senior Bowl. As we’ve seen countless times, a strong performance during the week of practices for the game can do a lot to bolster a player’s draft stock.
