Three Late-Round Quarterbacks In The 2019 NFL Draft Worth Watching

The need for quality quarterbacks is always high. Dwayne Haskins and Kyler Murray figure to be the first two quarterbacks taken off the board. After that, it is a crap shoot which will be drafted next.

We all know the popular names in the quarterback pool this year. I will take a look at two sleepers i think could be pretty good quarterbacks in the NFL.

Jordan Ta’amu  – Ole Miss

Last season at Ole Miss Ta’amu threw for 3.918 yards, 19 touchdowns, and eight interceptions. Also, completing 63.6 percent of his passes. Ta’amu is an accurate passer; he can make all the throws. He is one of the better deep ball passers you will see.

Along with a strong arm, Ta’amu has good mechanics and can move around in the pocket and make plays with his feet. Also can fit the ball in tight windows which is needed in the NFL.

Ta’amu needs to work on his decision making. He needs to learn how to read defenses better and pick up pre-snap blitzes. If Ta’amu goes to the right team where he can learn, i feel he could be a good quarterback.

Tyree Jackson – Buffalo

At 6’7 and 249 pounds, Jackson ran 4.59 40-yard dash at the combine. Jackson has a really strong arm and can really zip the ball in there. He is very athletic could be dual-threat type quarterback. Jackson can run and change directions well and hs the strength to run through tackles.

Last season at Buffalo Jackson, threw for 3.131 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions.

Jackson will have to improve on his decision making and his accuracy. In college, he threw a lot of balls to squatters in the cover two defense.

If Jackson can end somewhere where he can learn from a veteran quarterback, it will do he some good. Jackson has all the tools to be an excellent quarterback he needs time to work on decision making.

Taryn Christion – South Dakota State

I think Christion could be a big sleeper in this draft. Some scouts have called him a less-explosive Lamar Jackson. He has a strong arm and makes all sorts of athletic plays.

Last season at South Dakota State Christion threw for 3.515 yards, 35 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions. He also ran for 333 yards.

Christion has a strong arm and has leadership qualities to lead a team. Much like Lamar Jackson, he struggles with accuracy at times. He is an entertaining player to watch; if selected it will be in the later rounds.

I think with Christion’s athletic ability some teams will draft him. The kid has a strong arm and can make plays with his feet. The question is can he do it against better competition.
