This season, NFL Draft prospect, and BYU QB, Zach Wilson has been nothing short of impressive. Wilson has been compared to Johnny Manziel, the former Cleveland Browns quarterback. Earning the nickname ‘Mormon Manziel’, Zach Wilson has impressed NFL scouts with his arm, as well as his feet. As we get into the 2021 NFL Draft Process over the next few months, Zach Wilson, as well as several others, are sure to emerge.

Before we dive into this article, I think the tweet below from Eric Edholm says it best.
Zach Wilson this year is everything we wanted Jordan Love to be last year
— Eric Edholm (@Eric_Edholm) November 1, 2020
Jordan Love was a first round pick by the Green Bay Packers in the 2020 NFL Draft. Hailing from Utah State, Love had a breakout season in 2018, his sophomore year. However, in 2019, Jordan Love regressed. Interring the 2019 season, Jordan Love was looked at as a potential top quarterback prospect. However, following the 2019 season, Love slid to 26th as the Packers moved up four spots to draft the quarterback.
Zach Wilson, also playing in the state of Utah, draws several comparisons to Jordan Love. For instance, both were three-star recruiting prospects out of high school. More so, both quarterbacks found themselves battling late in the evening, and against lesser talent. As Eric said above, Zach Wilson really is what we wanted Jordan Love to be last season. Wilson has played phenomenally this season. His ability to make some throws, even if it’s against lesser competition, is what makes him special.
The 2021 NFL Draft Quarterback Class
Led by Trevor Lawrence and Justin Fields, the 2021 quarterback class is loaded with top talent. Trey Lance, a FCS-prospect from North Dakota State seems to have a firm grasp as the third passer in this class. However, it’s wide open behind him. In addition to Zach Wilson, Kyle Trask and Mac Jones are two NFL Draft prospects that could also sneak into the first round.
The 2021 NFL Draft Quarterback class is full of 'stock up' prospects.
It's still really early in the NFL Draft process, but at this point, I can see six QBs making their way into the first round in April.
It's going to be a fun process.

It still remains unclear how the 2021 NFL Draft will pan out. However, there are at least six prospects that can have a long-term impact in the National Football League. The NFL Combine in February, as well as collegiate pro days in March, will help to clear the path to the 2021 NFL Draft. No matter how the NFL Draft process goes forward, BYU’s Zach Wilson figures to be an important piece. As we get further into the process, stay tuned to NFL Draft Lounge for scouting reports and mock drafts on all draft-eligible prospects.
