On Tuesday, Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian announced that QB Quinn Ewers is listed as questionable for the matchup this weekend against UL Monroe. The redshirt junior QB was injured during the second quarter against the UTSA Roadrunners. Initially, the concern for Ewers is that the injury might have been much more serious in nature. Instead, it appears as though Quinn Ewers could see the field sooner, rather than later.
Texas QB Quinn Ewers is “questionable” for ULM game Saturday, according to Steve Sarkisian

Sarkisian didn’t provide a date for Ewers to return to on-field action, but did mention that the quarterback is “week-to-week.” If he’s unable to return this week, the Longhorns would once again hand the ball to Arch Manning, who appeared in relief of Ewers last weekend. Manning finished the game on Saturday going 9/12 on completions for 223 passing yards and four touchdowns, as well as a 67-yard rushing touchdown.
Quinn Ewers has appeared on most 2025 NFL Draft mock drafts in the first round, with a current ranking of 22nd on NFL Mock Draft Database’s consensus big board. Some draft analysts were surprised last season when ewers announced that he would be returning to Texas for the 2024 season. This was especially so given how Manning had looked in limited appearances last season.
If Quinn Ewers is able to come back from his questionable status and compete on Saturday against ULM, we at NFL Draft Lounge will provide an update. As always, you can follow us on Facebook, X, and Instagram.
